I personally feel that being at a higher authoritatibe position the Principal should intervene and play a major role in bringing about a change. What do you all think? What could be done?
As we had seen in the case study Teddy's performance was poor and that Mrs. Smith took his report card to the principal. I think principal must have asked for a detailed information about Teddy's performance and must have asked what was the reason for his poor performance
Yes a meeting with Mrs.Smith would have made it clear about the whole scenario which would help to bring out useful solutions like • Providing simplified notes • Remedial lectures • Diagnosing the problem
Also Principal could have discussed about other students who are performing similar to Teddy. Because it cannot be that in whole school only Teddy was like that
Yaa the meeting between the principal and Mrs.smith could play major role in the progress of teddy since the solutions removed in the meeting will help teddy.
Principal is the person who is always passionate for leadership and education and thus it is the responsibility of the principal to grow the desire of learning in the lives of his students.where Mrs Smith and principal may have discussed the case of teddy and his progress of the academic year.
After the intervention of the Principal many changes could have been made. Teddy would have got a better learning environment..a much positive and motivated one. Slow but steady progress could have been made possible. Once Teddy would have noticed people around him putting efforts for him then he would also have been much more interested in performing better.
Yes, after putting to action the solutions discussed by the Principal and Mrs. Smith there would have been a change in the teaching and learning process which would have helped Teddy in improving his performance thereby building self-confidence which further would help to boost his performance in both curricular as well as co-curricular activities.
Principle would have discussed Teddy's performance and behaviour in detail with Mrs Smith, and would have suggested some different teaching methods to help Teddy in better understanding on the subjects. Teddy's performance must have been improved after Principles intervention.

DeleteI think principal should find out the problems behind getting the less marks and accordingly they can improve the performance of Mrs.smith
ReplyDeleteYes and smith should work on that.
ReplyDeleteI think the principal must have also talked to Mrs. Smith about her approach towards Teddy. We saw that she was annoyed by Teddy.

Yes as a principal being authoritarian students are more frightened of them.
DeletePrincipal can ask Mrs. Smith to change the method of teaching so that it can help the students alike Teddy to improve their performance.
